Maddie has been wanting her own room for the past year or two now. However only recently did we feel that she would actually sleep by herself and not wind up cuddled up with sisters in their room. She had shared a room with her sisters since she was 4 and it had gone fairly well until more recently. She has shown signs of needing more alone time and her own quiet space. We decided to surprise her for her birthday with the room all set up. The bed was given to us as a hand me down by friends and the dresser was already hers in her old room. I found the rest of the things for very inexpensive. She wanted, blues, greens and animals...when I had asked her what she would want in her room should she one day get one.=) The video is of her seeing it for the first time. Her sisters hadn't seen the room put together either so it was a surprise for everyone. She loves it and has stayed in her room to sleep by herself for two nights now. Success.
