Still Sick Kiddo

Tomorrow will be three weeks that M has been sick. At first they just thought it was a recurring virus but now they feel that something is wrong but not sure what. While at the Dr. yesterday they thought she may be having migraines. Apparently sometimes in children migraines can appear with little to no headache and just an upset stomach and vomiting. So they said to start her on Motrin every 6-8 hours. We started that yesterday at about 3:00 pm. Last night she was still not feeling well - laid on the couch all day - and started running a fever (100.9). She woke D and I up every couple of hours all through the night crying that her tummy hurts. There is never any one specific area that if you push on it that it hurts. She says it just hurts all over. This morning and through the afternoon she continues to have a fever around 100. Personally I no longer think that it is migraines due to her symptoms last night and today even though she is on Motrin. She had horrible diarrhea this morning.

Danny took the stool and urine sample, that the Dr. requested yesterday, to their office today. He shared with them how very concerned we are and how we really want something more to be done. They are going to have the samples tested, see what they show, and if she is not feeling better by tomorrow may admit her to the children's hospital for more in depth testing. Please pray that she will feel better and that the Dr.'s will have wisdom and discernment in treating her.

In Christ,
A

:( I was hoping for a good news update. I'm surprised she hasn't been admitted for fluids yet. Did they test for rotavirus? Both of mine were hospitalized with that, and it lasted about 2 1/2 weeks. bleah.

Yes I was hoping for better news too.
I will ask tomorrow about Rotovirus. I do know they have done a lot of bloodwork and it has (thankfully) come back normal. Doesn't sound like a fun virus that they had.
