Dear Daughters,
In 1995 (26 years ago) Daddy started playing the drum set weekly either for his BSU (Baptist Student Union) at NLU or at his home church, New Covenant, when on college break in the summers. During his college days he also marched in the drum line for the NLU marching band. He has played the drum set most weeks since then. When he moved to Louisville for seminary in 2000 he soon started playing weekly at Jeffersontown Baptist Church under Dr. Nathan Platt. Around that same time he went on a six week tour around the country with a Christian worship band playing at various churches. He loved it. In 2005 he began playing most weeks at Ninth and O Baptist Church spanning two different worship pastors with the last one being Dr. Barry Joslin.
Recently Daddy has begun playing less to allow other younger players to step up and have a chance to play more and have the experiences that he was given as a young man. Part of him too is needing to have a break from the 21 year weekly playing/practicing. I know he enjoys it too much to give it up for good though! It's been a blessing to him and our family. Some of our dearest lifelong friends have been made with those he has played with over the past 21 years. I can't imagine our lives without these dear people.
Daughters, be faithful in whatever you do. The Lord will bless it indeed.
Love, Momma
