Happy 4th of July 09'
Hope that you all had a fun and festive 4th of July! L's birthday is at the end of July and when we told her, the morning of, that the 4th was a special day she said, "Is it my birthday?" =) We said no but that it was America's birthday.
I have been on a roll lately with the little videos. It is almost quicker than posting a bunch of pictures. Although I wish the size was larger.
We had a really fun 4th this year. Since we went to an Old Fashioned 4th Celebration I decided to dress the girls in their yellow gingham matching dresses. Danny's Mom made one for M and one for L about 2 summers ago. M's didn't fit her anymore so Mrs. S. sewed her a new one (don't ask me how she found the same fabric) and Libby inherited M's old one and E inherited L's old one. Got that? =) So it all worked out that they had one to wear and I thought they look old fashioned enough for this fun 4th gathering. It isn't often that I put too much thought into what they wear so it was fun to see them all dressed alike for a fun outing.
We met our great friends at the festivities and despite the rain we enjoyed our time together. Stopped in at two garage sales that were right by the festivities, got free coffee, ate corn dogs, ice cream... I think my favorite was riding the trolley. It took us around several blocks and then back to where we started. I could have stayed on it a lot longer.
Later in the evening we were invited over to some other friends house for a cookout. This family attended our old church and many of their extended family attend the same. They invite anyone and everyone to come to this celebration each year. So it was a large gathering of old friends - "family" that we just love to be around. There is always lots of laughter to go around. Who can beat that? ;)
